The Y anchor is a really simple idea made into a fantastic product, I am very pleased with the results and would recommend to anyone needing to secure anything of value to make things as difficult as possible for would-be thieves. I have secured our caravan using a sold-secure chain and lock through the A-frame. Short of cutting the (supposedly un-cuttable) chain with some industrial cutting equipment, the only way to get the chain off would be by cutting through the A-frame with an angle grinder. This means that the caravan would not be able to be towed as the hitch would be rendered useless (the A-frame is what holds the towing hitch to the caravan chassis).

I've coupled my Y max 90 with an Almax Series IV chain. Which I really would reccommend to anyone too.

"Having had our first Christiania bike stolen from our front garden, 
we needed a proper deterrent.  Our first anchor was wall mounted and 
the thieves had simply crow-barred the anchor off the wall leaving us 
with a nice hole in our brickwork!  It took me a morning to fit the Y-
Anchor as I had to drill through almost a foot of concrete to create 
a neat hole but the process itself actually gives you peace of mind 
because you understand what a thief will have to get through in order 
to steal your bike.  I'm now confident that the Y-Anchor and the 50 
or so kilos of concrete that surround it will deter any opportunist"

      Here's the post-installation photo, as promised!  The concrete contractors found them easy to install, and put them inside a drainage tube that they dug inside of a deeper pit so it has proper drainage.  The 6' Kryptonite Legend locks were easily long enough to wrap around the axles.  The owner of the concrete company felt that to get these anchors out of the ground, the locks would probably break first and you'd need a piece of heavy instruction equipment like a Caterpillar D2 to pull them out - the tires would just spin if you tried to drive away with these chains locked in place.

Hi Mark

Here are some photos of the Y anchor I bought from you, after installation. It was important that I could install a ground anchor that was a). tamper proof and b). integrated well with my slate drive. Your Y anchor achieves both objectives. What you don't see in the photographs is the 80kg block of concrete with reinforcing rods below the slate (I am a builder). It is possible that a determined thief could steel the bike but he would need a battery grinder to cut through the chain as I am confident your ground anchor is going nowhere!

It's the best anchor of its kind I have seen, every biker who is serious about security should have one. I wish I'd installed one before my Speed Triple was stolen...

Thanks for the speedy delivery. The anchor turned up just in time. I have just had my driveway done and wanted to put in a Sold Secure ground anchor. I was considering one that was flush with the ground when not in use and was pulled up when needed. Motrax have one in their current catalogue, but it isn't available until end of April. So I looked fir an alternative and found yours. I think it is a much better anchor because it does not have any moving parts, and it is retangular and fits into my block paving beautifully. I don't currently have a bike, but when I get one, the drive is ready.

I just purchased a CBR 600 and I live in LA; so bike theft is high.
Like most, I live in an apartment so bike security is more difficult.
The bike is kept in a car port with 3 other vehicles and we enter the
parking via a security gate, remote controlled. Recently a person has
had the remote stolen from their car so I feel the need to up
security. I got a lo-jack installed and an alarm. I am not allowed
to dig up the ground so I was thinking of getting a timber box (like a
box for plants) and filling it with concrete and the y anchor would be
embedded in the box. I could then chain the bike frame to the Yanchor.

I completed my project and I have attached some pictures.

Some quick details:

I used a 110 litre rubbermaid storage box. I got 9 x 30cm, 4 x 60cm
and 6 x 120cm sections of rebar and 7 x 90lb bags of ready-mix strong
concrete.

First I added some concrete to get the height I wanted, the top of the
Yanchor is about 2cm below the top of the box. I replaced the rebar
sections that came with the Yanchor with 1 foot sections. Then I kept
adding concrete and rebar, the 60cm rebar was put in an x pattern each
side of the Yanchor. Finally the last piece of rebar (30cm) was
placed in the groove of the Y and covered with cement.

The box weighs about 300kg.  I'm still
trying to figure out how to chain the frame of the bike instead of the
wheel, Honda did not leave too much room!!

Install was fairly easy, I used premix concrete and finished up with some cement/builders sand mix to get the smooth finish.

Definitely seems just the ticket and would recommend!

Hi Mark,

I bought the Y anchor from you for my ride on mower and have placed it so that the anchor sits centrally underneath the mower with the chain coming up either side of the mower to secure it - my point being, that I would gladly take a photo of the whole thing in situ for your website BUT unfortunately you can't see the anchor at all.

However, I will take this opportunity to say that I am really pleased with (1) your web site and service - I received the anchor only a couple of days after ordering it from you;  (2) the ease of installation; and finally the quality and strength of the anchor.  I'm only sorry I can't be of any more help but I assure you that I have talked about your product to lots of people.
